family

Some get confused when I call Sander or Alan my brothers. Aren't they technically my step-brothers?

So what is Sander to Alan? Just friends, I guess, though I'm glad of that. And now Sander has a newborn brother, so I'm starting to understand what it might be like from Alan's perspective. Very, very weird. But somehow family nonetheless.

Four brothers, and barely a measure of blood between them.

So I installed the 8800 and.... I think it's gonna stay there. <_<

So Nvidia sent me my prize package from the Ataris contest ... it included quite a bit more than just the graphics card. Nvidia magazine, Nvidia carabiner, Nvidia computer toolkit, two mousepads. o_O

But anyway. I won't have time to install the new card before work, so the second part will come later. Likely tonight. :P Since I have no idea whether the new card will actually be an upgrade for Miles... benchmarking time!

Take this one for instance: I had a dream about Naruto (Sander and I watched five episodes yesterday), who was using hover-shoes to sneak into some mission-critical estate. He also had a Poncle companion. I believe this was all in the context of a Back to the Future movie. It was quite possibly the coolest dream ever ..... in a way. <_<

It's amusing to watch a squad car try desperately to speed its way out of a guilt-induced traffic jam of its own creation.

In the movie Twister, there is a scene where a nigh-indestructible truck is plodding across a stretch of highway full of debris, and through a rain-soaked windshield covered with out-of-focus hail, we see Helen Hunt frantically controlling the vehicle while yelling into her headset mic: "We're almost there! We're almost there!"

That is my life.

Tomorrow is Friday.
