work, hinata
Slowly the drugs are working their way to my midbrain, where hopefully they will perform some sort of magic ritual capable of soothing my mental beasts into slumber. That credo of theirs--"may cause drowsiness"--is one they damn well better live up to! I'm trying really hard to get sleep tonight, because I'd feel pretty lame calling in sick tomorrow. This is mostly due to the fact that someone else called in sick yesterday, only made it for a few hours today, and I'm not sure what to expect for tomorrow. Either it develops into full-blown sinus bloat and I am forced to capitulate, or I wake up and feel better and have a nice Friday.
I just know, now, that it will be neither, and I will wake up feeling just as a do now; very crappy, but not so crappy that it prevents me from doing things like writing on my weblog. Or taking care of dogs.
Meanwhile, Hinata must have driven over one of the many branches that litter our neighborhood's roads (still) because once I got to work, I found a tire going flat. This is not particularly newsworthy, since in 14 minutes (and 14 bucks) it was all taken care of. But I felt the need to mention it as sort of a initiation into the realities of used-car-ownership. A milestone on the long downhill highway that eventually bottoms out in a junkyard.
