About New Year's:

Long story short, we ended up with three more people than I had anticipated, and that basically spoiled the party. Mostly because of the obnoxious behavior. But I had also forgotten (since it never comes up for me, really) that role-playing is NOT a "more-the-merrier" affair. Nuclear War, perhaps, and certainly at LAN parties ... but not Dungeons and Dragons. After four, it just goes downhill. So with a party of eight, it took hours just to get them ready, and then there was no time to do the adventure, so we just split into teams and had them fight each other. All in all, not what I had hoped for, really. Somewhat boring.

So once half the kids had left, my brother and I were sitting there with the few good (and well-mannered) players when we decided we should try it again. In fact, we might make this a weekly deal. I used to go over there to play D&D with Alan's old crowd regularly, but that wore off when his friends moved away. Now that I'm bringing Sander, and I met a newbie who seems eager and friendly, it'd be neat to start that up again.

Especially if they like my suggestion: a d20 adaption of Fate of Io. I know, I know: crazy. But I figured out a way to make it work. Sander and I will be over there today--playing either Nuclear War or the adventure I'd had ready last week--and we'll just see what the new group thinks of it.

I'm excited, anyway. :P

Well, I was going to get home and at some point write about how New Year's went, and what's up with my brother and things... but, uh ... saw an IM from Kass, and holy shit. Guess it feels like the details of my life are completely unimportant now. :\

And to answer your question, Kass, yeah, I actually do know someone. The brother of a certain young friend of mine. And both vehicles were gone when I drove past their house; I never see that. But I guess it's to be expected. I just hope they're alright.

And hope you had a nice flight, too. ^_^

So I leave LJ, intent on updating a new site more often, with more things to offer. Well, be amazed, for I have only let one week slip by, instead of months! Baby steps. :P
