Elf Tower's account

AP (Cassiopeia) - In a game crucial to league standings, the Elf Tower Devils returned to early season form, handily defeating the SiamGus Guerillas by a score of 4-2. The Devils were led by an emotional first period, whose fans watched their team get brutally outshot by a count of 28-1, but a handful of rookies put some heart back in their team's bench with a few fights.

"When I go out there and do those things, it's to show that we can't be pushed around. If you're going to go after our star players, then we can't just stand around an accept that," were the post-game comments from Elf Tower grinder Jussi Jokinen, whom was part of a brawl that saw four fights going on simultaneously towards the end of the first frame. "And if I can spark my teammates by defending them on the ice, then I'm going to do it."

The rough stuff translated to offense in the second, as the Devils jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead. The Guerrillas made a game of it, netting two goals in the closing moments of the second period. Also making the match interesting was the SiamGus defense, which was involved in a shouting match with some Devils fans sitting directly behind the bench. Arena security had to restrain the fans from jumping onto the bench.

"I'm not about to comment on what was said, but all I have to say is I hope the Guerrillas can back up their brash talk come playoff time," said the Elf Tower head coach after the game.

The two teams won't meet again until a possible playoff matchup, as this was their second match of the season. Elf Tower won both games.
